If you know me, you know I love trying out new places. Scouting out Michigan’s best food spots is one of my hobbies, so I was so excited when I was invited to try out Fleming’s in Birmingham.
Fleming’s Steakhouse & Wine Bar – They are located in Birmingham, Michigan. While most guests enjoy classic steak cuts and the famous Fleming’s potatoes, there is a whole other side to this restaurant and their food. They have a frequently changing Chef’s Table menu, which I thought was pretty unique. The menu items change with the season or whenever the chef feels inspired by local ingredients.
I was invited to try out the menu created by Chef Devon Follbaum.
Our first course was a round of oysters with cocktail sauce and cucumber mignonette.
They were delicious and the sauces complimented the oysters very well.
Then we had the cheddar ale soup, made with Bell’s Oberon Ale and we had a roasted beet salad. Both were so delicious. I told our waiter, Chris, if I could swim in anything, it would be that soup 😂
For our entrees, Chef Devon and Chris brought out roasted lamb loin that came with mushrooms, pearl onions and baby potatoes. The lamb meat was so tender and the flavors were phenomenal!
We also had the scallops that came on top of a sweet pea purée and roasted golden beets. The flavors were so different and so tasty! We paired the dish with Fleming’s famous mac n cheese, and it was the best mac n cheese I’ve ever had! 🧀
To end the night, Chef Devon brought us dessert! We paired it with some coffee and cappuccino. We had a cinnamon fried doughnut with coffee flavored ice cream on top. It was SO yummy, the doughnut was perfectly crisp on the outside and so soft on the inside.
Overall, our experience at Fleming’s was amazing! The staff was so kind and friendly, the ambiance was relaxing and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back for more! I’m very thankful that I was asked to check this place out! 😊
