Okay so, I’ve never been on a cruise before and, I admit, I was always scared to go on one. (Haven’t you watched Titanic?!) The thought of being stuck on a ship with a bunch of random people bothered me. But, at the same time, I’ve still always wanted to try one. My family decided to do a cruise for our family trip so I officially had the chance to experience my first cruise. We booked our cruise with Royal Caribbean on the Mariner of the Seas.
Our adventure began as we landed in Miami, Florida. The ship was sailing out from there and it would take us to The Bahamas and Bermuda.
I didn’t realize how big this ship was until I saw it! The inside of the ship was enormous and it felt like I was in a different world. Our rooms were perfect and I had such a beautiful view of the ocean from our deck.
Each day and night there were so many activities on the ship, from trivia to belly flop competitions! The food on the ship was delicious and the shows and entertainment were amazing. There was also a casino on the ship that I found myself at for a few hours. Also, I was proud that I won the Beatles and Harry Potter trivia’s they had on board! 🤣
One of the things I loved about being on the ship was that I didn’t have to search for food. I knew that when I was hungry, all I had to do was walk into the buffet, called Windjammers. There was so much food to choose from and I don’t think I’ve eaten that much than I did on that ship. For dinner each night, we were assigned tables in their dinner ballroom, and the food and staff there were great.
Our stops in the Bahamas and Bermuda were perfect. We had a whole day at each place to explore and do whatever we wanted (As long as we were back on the ship was 11pm!)
I didn’t feel any sea sickness, I didn’t even feel like I was on a boat 99% of the time.
All in all, if you haven’t tried a cruise, do it! It was such a different experience, and I travel a lot! It was really cool to meet different people from all over the world and the staff on board were so nice and genuine. It was so nice to just lay out on the deck and stare at the ocean, it was so serene and relaxing. And the stops at each island we’re perfect and just the perfect amount of time to adventure. For my first cruise, I loved everything Royal Caribbean had to offer!
