Flotation therapy is one of the biggest trends in alternative health. I’ve tried float therapy a few times, and let me tell you, it feels GREAT. One of my favorite spots is at True Rest Detroit. There are many benefits to float therapy. Floating can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, increase optimism, and improve sleep. After each float session, you get more and more relaxed in your little pod. When I first tried it, I got a little scared because I am claustrophobic. I got over that pretty quick when I started floating away. I admit, it is hard to clear your mind and think about absolutely nothing, but it gets easier after each session. Each session is an hour long. Now, I fall asleep while floating because I get so relaxed, so I guess that’s a good thing! Each pod room is so clean, tidy and even comes with a shower so you can wash all the salt off after your float!
