HAWAII

My husband and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary on May 1st! Time REALLY does fly! We decided on a tropical vacation and chose to go to Hawai’i! 🏝️

We took a flight from DETROIT to LAX , had a nice little layover and flew over to The Big Island! We stayed at the Waikoloa Beach Marriot 🏨 It was absolutely beautiful!

We did a sunset sail which I HIGHLY recommend! You get to see a beautiful sunset with fun drinks + snacks. It’s very romantic and a beautiful sight to see.

On our second day, we did the BIG ISLAND tour! Mind you, it is a LONG day (about 13 hours) but it is SO worth it! We went to so many spots and locations we would have never done on our own. Our tour guide, Chance, was so much fun and we learned so much about Hawai’i and the culture + history behind it. The tour took us to a coffee farm, Greenwell Farms, and the coffee here is incredible. No wonder Hawai’i has AMAZING coffee. We also went to PUNALU’U a popular bakery 🧁 They had the most amazing goodies, we tried the MALASADAS which are fluffy donuts that are insanely good. The tour took us to an active volcano, WHICH WAS STILL SMOKING! Crazy. And the beautiful Rainbow Falls! 🌈

Have you ever heard of POG? It’s a popular juice blend in Hawai’i made up of Passion Fruit, Orange juice + guava. IT’S SO GOOD. I drank it almost all the time 😂 On our tour, we went to a LAVA TUBE! It was so cool.

Our next day, we spent a beautiful morning with @WaikoloaGolf ⛳️ and it was a beautiful course with an amazing view 🌊 You could say I’m the best caddy around 🤣

We enjoyed going to the beach and lounging by the pool!

There are so many amazing places to go for dinner on The Big Island! 🏝️ We tried Canoe House at the Mauna Lani hotel. What an experience! Your dinner view is right on the ocean with a perfect view of the sunset. And the food was UNREAL! The catch of the day is their special and the food was amazing.

There are so many treats and goodies around the island. We loved the shave ice 🍧 IT WAS SO GOOD.

On one of our days, we did some SNORKELING! 🤿 It’s an awesome experience that everyone needs to do! I got to see fishes, turtles, dolphins and the beautiful reef below. It was so much fun and it’s so cool to be literally swimming in the middle of the ocean. We ended the snorkel with a beautiful sail + view!

For dinner, we went to HĀLANI located in the Mauna Lani hotel! Dinner was incredible. The food in Hawaii is so fresh + DELICIOUS! There was also live music playing! Beautiful ukulele music, amazing food + the sunset make for the perfect dinner!

Another fun spot we went to, was the LAVA LAVA BEACH CLUB! 🏄🏻‍♀️ A fun little restaurant/ bar with live music! It’s a short distance from our hotel!

On our next night, we went to a LUAU! YOU HAVE TO GO TO ONE! You get to see how beautiful the Hawaiian culture is and their traditions. And not to mention, the food is SO YUMMY! The show was amazing and so much fun.
